1. Broughton Street

Broughton Street is one of the main shopping hubs in Downtown Savannah and offers the perfect blend of popular chain stores, specialty retailers, and local boutiques.

One of the most popular retailers on this iconic street is the Savannah Bee Company — a store that sells honey, mead, and other products made from local honey, like lotions and lip balms. Another popular shop is The Paris Market — a Parisian-inspired retailer that sells clothing, furniture, home decor, and beauty products — that also has a charming cafe (one of the best places for coffee and tea in Savannah). 

And, of course, don't forget to stop by Leopold's Ice Cream on Broughton Street, the oldest (and most popular) ice cream shop in Savannah.

2. City Market

Savannah’s City Market has existed since the 1700s when traders and merchants would sell their goods in this open-air market. Today, City Market is a popular shopping and dining destination inside a restored warehouse in Savannah's Historic District, and it is also home to several art galleries and local artists that call the market's art center home.

You'll find plenty of gift shops, retailers, and artisan shops in City Market, and if you're looking for a break from shopping in this open-air marketplace, consider visiting the American Prohibition Museum.

3. Wright Square

Wright Square is one of the largest (and most beautiful) squares in Savannah's Historic District, situated between Broughton Street and Oglethorpe Avenue. While many visitors come to marvel at the impressive monuments and beautiful architecture in this stunning square — the adjacent streets are the "place to be" for Savannah boutiques!

You'll find several hip boutiques in and around this popular square, including Harper Boutique and The Copper Closet. You should also pay a visit to Wright Square Vintage & Retro Mall if you'd like to go antiquing and pop into The Olfactory Co. for one-of-a-kind finds, including clothes and books.

4. ShopSCAD

ShopSCAD is a collaborative store in Downtown Savannah that sells creative products designed by students, graduates, or faculty at the Savannah College of Art.

You'll find plenty of one-of-a-kind pieces in this retail store operated by current and aspiring artists from the Savannah College of Art — including fine art, jewelry, accessories, books, stationary, home decor, and bath and body products.

5. Twelve Oaks Shopping Center

Twelve Oaks Shopping Center and Abercorn Walk are located about a 15-minute drive south of Downtown Savannah. While you won't find many tourists here since it's off the beaten path, this shopping area is still home to some of the best shops in Savannah, including the Savannah Wine Cellar, where you can sample nearly 50 different types of wine (hello, happy hour!).

This shopping area is also a great place to shop for a brand-new outfit at upscale retailers like Chico's and Talbots or some new furniture at Ethan Allen. You'll even find bridal boutiques here, like The White Magnolia Bridal Collection or Bella Bridesmaids, if you're in the market for a wedding dress.

6. River Street

River Street, as you can imagine, is the street that runs up and down the Savannah River. This iconic shopping and dining destination is the best place to find kitschy souvenir stores filled with t-shirts, ornaments, and mugs, as well as unique local shops and collector stores.

One of the most popular places to shop on River Street is River Street Sweets. This candy store is filled with homemade goodies, like world-famous pralines, chocolate bear claws, glazed pecans, and creamy fudge. River Street Sweets is now a franchise with over 15 stores (and is growing!) — so keep your eyes peeled for a store in a location near you. They have a new location on Broughton Street — so check it out if you’ll be in the area!

River Street Marketplace is worth checking out while you’re on River Street for more knick-knacks, gifts, and local goods. There is also a Savannah Bee Company here if you miss out on the flagship store on Broughton Street.

7. Oglethorpe Mall

If you're looking for name-brand retailers, department stores, and the typical "shopping mall" experience with a touch of southern style — Oglethorpe Mall is the perfect shopping venue for you.

This massive mall is home to over a hundred retailers, including JCPenney, Old Navy, H&M, DSW Shoes, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, and more. Picker Joe's Antique Mall & Vintage Market is arguably the best place for antique shopping in Savannah. This 10,000-square-foot warehouse is packed with nearly 35,000+ antiques, including furniture, books, clothing, and an endless amount of collectibles and mid-century finds.

This antique mall also houses a vintage coffee, ice cream, and soda shop inside, where you can grab a cup of coffee or a malted milkshake to enjoy before or after your shopping excursion.
