5 Romantic Dates in Savannah

We may be biased, but at South Key Management, we think Savannah is one of the best cities for romantic getaways and date nights.

The main reason people travel is to spend time exploring a place different from where we live. Exploring a new city can be even nice if you are traveling with your significant other. In Savannah you can have a romantic day date at the beach, a candlelit dinner, or picnic in a historic park.

Here are five romantic dates our South Key Management employees recommend:

1 - Walk in Whitefield Square

Located in the southeast section of the Savannah Historic district, Whitefield Square is a park complete with a picture-perfect white gazebo. Walk around the park, smell the flowers, hear the birds singing, and take some Instagram worthy selfies at the gazebo. This quiet, romantic spot is perfect for talking and spending quality time with whoever you are with.

2 – Take a trip to Tybee Island

One of the most popular day trips from Savannah is going to Tybee Island. Located only an hour away from Savannah, you have easy access to beaches and sand dunes. Enjoy a picturesque drive past the beautiful marshes. You can spend the day frolicking on the beach, walking along the beach at sunset, and then grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant. A popular place is A-J’s Dockside Restaurant because you can sit outside and have a view of the pier while you eat.

3 – Dinner at The Collins Quarter

If you are looking for a nice dinner out, look no further than The Collins Quarter. Offering candlelit dinners every night, this is the place to go. The Collins Quarter, open since 2014, brings a taste of Australia to Savannah. Modeled after the historic Collins Street in Melbourne, The Collins Quarter offers a variety of foods from salads to steak and frites, the CQ classic, and even braised short rib.

There are two locations to choose from: downtown or Forsyth Park.

4 – Pack a Picnic

Hands down, the best picnic spot in the city is the iconic Forsyth Park. It boasts over 30 acres within the Historic District. While it is very popular for events, weddings, and photoshoots it is large enough that you can always find a small spot for a private picnic. Pick up some charcuterie at a local store or try take-out from a restaurant downtown. We know that no matter what, you’ll enjoy the views and the food!

5 – Grab drinks on the Rooftop

One of the best ways to experience the city of Savannah is to spend an evening eating and drinking at one of the rooftop bars. Peregrin is a fancier option that overlooks the Historic District. Choose from specialty drinks and small plates during your happy hour.

For views of the river, check out Top Deck, where you can watch the ships that come and go while enjoying your drinks. For a unique option check out Churchill’s and rooftop terrace. You can have specialty cocktails and classic British dishes at this British inspired bar.
