Most people consider Labor Day the official end to summer. You may think it means that things are slowing, or the weather is getting cooler. But in Savannah, we are still having lots of warm weather and even several exciting events to celebrate the long weekend!
Here are four ideas South Key Management recommends if you are looking to spend Labor Day weekend in Savannah:

If you want to grab a bite to eat, we love these restaurants:
End the day by attending the Labor Day Beach Bash, featuring a free concert from the Swingin’ Medallions on the Tybee Pier and Pavilion. We can assure you these folks know how to bring a crowd!
Do you like fish? Shrimp? Crab? How about all three?
If you do, you must take part in the annual Shabazz Seafood Festival! Serving the best fish in Savannah since 1989, Shabazz Seafood Restaurant has made their mark each Labor Day with their famous Shabazz Seafood Platter.
Stop by Shabazz Seafood Restaurant on West Victory Drive starting Friday September 2nd through Monday September 5th and order the Shabazz Seafood Platter to enjoy a dish with fish, shrimp, crab, fries, and salad. It is a dish that is sure to make everyone happy!

Fort McAllister State Park is over 1,700 acres located along the Ogeechee River. Only ten miles South of Savannah, the park has Fort McAllister, which is one of the most preserved forts from the Confederacy. In addition to trees and a salt marsh, there is a museum full of Civil War artifacts.
Spend Sunday September 4th between 10am and 1pm at Fort McAllister for a day filled with education and entertainment, perfect for the whole family. As part of the special occasion, civil war interpreters will be firing muskets throughout the day!
