Space

This home was built at the turn of the century and combined the popular federal design with aspects of antebellum and colonial styles. Beautifully kept through the years, the home still features original wood flooring, an original (non-working) fireplace, and original hand-crafted crown modeling. Built on the grounds of the original Trustees’ Garden, this historic area of Savannah has played a significant role in Savannah’s history. First as an experimental garden, then as various military forts and Ironworks, and now as an incredible combination of beautiful venues. You are genuinely staying atop Savannah’s history with a stay at Avery's Cottage.
Embark on your stay by entering the cottage through a private entrance in a garden filled with greenery and brick-laying paths.
Directly inside, step into the breakfast and kitchen space. In the breakfast area is a table set for four, accented by abundant natural light from surrounding windows. The galley kitchen connects the entry and dining space to the rest of the home. Featuring new stainless-steel appliances, custom cabinets, and everything you need to cook. Pots, pans, kitchen utensils, dishware, and small appliances ensure the kitchen is ready for a short or extended stay.
The home’s primary dining and living room create a single open space perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. Find an oversized queen sofabed, two comfortable sitting chairs in the living room, and a smart TV ready to stream your favorite shows.
The home provides an ensuite bedroom with its own private bathroom. Find a new queen mattress wrapped in crisp linens and plush pillows in the ensuite. Shiplap walls and oversized windows create a warm, comfortable setting perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The ensuite bathroom features a single vanity, toilet, and shower/tub combination. The bathroom is outfitted with all essentials, including towels, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer.
The home's second bedroom is situated off of the living room and provides a comfortable space with a new queen mattress and fresh linens. The second, shared bathroom is accessible through the living room and features a single vanity, toilet, and low-entry shower. It is also equipped with all the essentials.
Are you working remotely during your stay? Our High-speed WIFI supports videoconferencing and multitasking.
Host tip? Enjoy your coffee on the back porch, taking in the subtle sounds of Savannah and the wind blowing through the old-growth trees surrounding the property.

Avery’s Cottage was in an ideal location as it was easy to walk to lots of restaurants, bars, & things to do. It had a lovely private gardens & porch. The Airbnb had all the amenities we could have asked for. The hosts were super responsive and helpful!!! I struggled with the stars. I feel like the drawback during our stay was the street parking -while I don’t mind paying for street parking or a spot- it would be more convenient to have a ‘dedicated’ spot. There seems to be a possible option behind the unit. We traveled over the holidays and it was hard to find parking on the weekend. It could have been the perfect storm but we had to park behind unit and several times we had to go out to ‘circle the block with no avail’. It was a bummer that we couldn’t just relax and enjoy our evening when we arrived home. Other thing was the upstairs neighbors were very active during our stay from 11-2 am moving chairs and furniture. The bed in the en-suite rm was also noisy/not at comfy.

Very walkable, great location however pay attention to street cleaning day and down load park savannah app. The space looked just pictures and was clean. However we were not aware of living space above us with loud children running. There was also considerable early morning noise from the harbor. There was no electrical outlet in one bathroom.

Avery’s cottage exceeded our expectations! It was perfect for a group of 4 people and had so much charm! We were initially anxious about having to use metered parking for our vehicle, but it turned out to be super easy! There were always parking spots close by and it is very affordable. Would definitely stay here again!
