Description

This beloved family home, a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom Victorian just half a block from Forsyth Park, dates all the way back to the turn of the 20th century. This is revealed by its double porches, gorgeous original hardwood floors, high ceilings, pronounced trim and unique fireplaces. When you walk in, you are immediately hit by a wave of elegance and grandiosity that will have you head over heels.

Space

Covered from head to toe in original artwork, much of which is actually produced by the owner and her family, you will feel as though you’re strolling through a private art gallery. Just pour a Merlot, and let your curiosity and imagination run wild as you admire all the little details. The living room is the perfect place to relax and entertain your guests with plenty of comfy seating, a smart TV and lots of coffee table space to gather ‘round and play some cards. Settle in to the azure blue Chatsworth Room, the owner’s interpretation of an English “snug”, for an evening of conversation and cocktails beneath the soothing glow of pierced metal lanterns. Let the conversation spill into the open dining room and kitchen as you enjoy the large formal dining table surrounded by authentic Louis Ghost Chairs, or perch on a stool at the spacious, Carrara marble bar. The sleek kitchen is an entertainer’s dream, with ample counter space and everything you need to show off your culinary and mixology skills to the group as you whip up some hand-crafted nibbles and drinks before heading out for the night. After all the fun, head upstairs to one of the three exceedingly comfortable bedrooms. Blissfully unwind in the delightful master suite, where you’ll find a sumptuous king bed, and an extravagant marble bathroom with both a rain shower and a soaking tub. The second bedroom, a sublimely bright and cheerful room, has a diamond-tufted king bed and shares a hall bath with the third bedroom, an enchanting room with another, wonderfully cozy king bed. Each bedroom has floor to ceiling boutique closets, so if you like to have plenty of outfit choices for the day, we’ve got you covered.

The Neighborhood

Being just a 1 minute walk to Forsyth Park, you really can't beat this location. It's plenty quiet enough at night to get a good night's sleep, yet close enough to everything that Savannah has to offer. Enjoy a quick stroll through the park and check out the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings from 9-12. We're just a few blocks away from some of the best local restaurants and shops in town. Local 11ten, Betty Bombers, Sentient Bean, Black Rabbit and Cuban Window Cafe are all less than a ten minute walk from the house. Check out our favorite natural food store, Brighter Day, just at the top of the park where you can pick up all of your groceries for the week. We're roughly a mile from City Market, River Street and Bay Street, where all of the action is!

Getting around

Aside from being able to walk everywhere, we have a FREE trolley bus that takes you up and down the historic district called the DOT shuttle. There's a pickup stop just two blocks away. Another FREE option is The Downtowner, which is essentially a Savannah-run "uber" that runs 10am-midnight 7 days a week. Of course, Uber/Lyft is always a good option to pop around downtown especially late at night, when some of the other options are limited.

Guest Access

You have this stunning home all to yourself! You may access the front porch, upper balcony and rear courtyard at your leisure. We do want to reiterate that this is a residential neighborhood and "quiet hours" are from 9pm - 8am. If you're having that late-night cocktail outside, we just ask that you keep to a reasonable volume and head in if you're hit with that sudden interest to sing karaoke! :) Parking is free on the street. Please just be sure to read signs before parking overnight as there are street sweepers that come twice a week.

House Rules Desc

Absolutely no animals are permitted whatsoever.

Please do not use our linens/towels to wipe off makeup or excessive dirt, we offer makeup wipes and paper towels for these reasons. Stained linens may result in a linen fee of up to $50 per item.

Please treat the home as your own and let us know if anything breaks. We are much more empathetic to those who are honest and upfront with us :)

Do not flush ANY thing other than toilet paper down the toilets ("flushable" wet wipes are not permitted either). If we have to call an emergency plumber and find that the cause of a blockage is due to something unpermitted being flushed, you will be subject to a $250 fee.

Interaction

We are available via phone Monday-Friday 9am-9pm and Saturday & Sunday from 10am-7pm. If you have an emergency, please call 911.

Other things to note

This is a residential neighborhood and we have great relationships with out neighbors, so beg of you to be respectful with your noise levels especially late at night. The City's noise ordinance is from 9pm-8am so if you do plan on having a few extra cocktails on the porch, we just ask that you use your inside voices :)

We had a great time at this gorgeous rental! Easy to find and safe quiet location one street over from Forsyth park and within short walking distance to the free trolley. We were able to park right in front of the house on the street. This house was a perfect mix of historical Savannah charm with upscale amenities and interesting art throughout. This was a great choice for a group trip as there was plenty of room to lounge and also to have your own space. The beds, pillows and linens were insanely comfortable. We really enjoyed how well stocked the kitchen was with appliances and utensils and the separate bar area was a fun touch. The hosts were easy to reach for anything we needed and friendly. Highly recommended, this was my favorite stay in Savannah.

My Best Tips - Don't stress out over the street sweepers (like I did!). They come by between 10:30 PM to 1:00 AM once a week. It was easy enough to move our car around the corner for the night. Just pay attention to the street signs for the sweeper schedule. Also, we were there in Dec and it was warm (70s) and humid (91%) during the day (tshirt and shorts weather), and cooled off some at night. However, I was disappointed I could not lower the AC below 70F to help cool the 2nd floor bedrooms and dry out some of that humidity at bedtime. IMO, for the price, the guests should have full control of the thermostats. Overall, we enjoyed this lovely home. It was very clean and comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was a dream! Savannah is beautiful, the food was great, and the hosts very helpful and responsive.

Brandon and Chase have a great place in the perfect location. Our family immediately felt at home and really enjoyed having the space to enjoy each other's company. We did have a maintenance issue but it was resolved quickly and with constant communications. You can be confident in Brandon and Chase as the hosts of this lovely home in the historic district.

This has been our favorite place to ever stay as a family. It is quintessential Savannah with southern charm and eclectic feel. First time I’ve been in a place where in-person was better than photos. Weather and location were perfect. Had everything we needed. Favorite moments were late nights sitting on second floor porch with my wife. Parking was easy and readily available. Just make sure you read signs.
