Savannah might not seem like one of the top destinations to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the United States. However, you might be surprised to learn that it is one of Savannah’s most popular holidays, and the city’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are among the largest in the country!
Every year, a large influx of people (local and not-so-local) head to Savannah in mid-March to participate in our festivities. From Shamrock-themed runs to concerts to bar crawls, there is no shortage of opportunities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah.
Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Events (2026)
Want to join us in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah? Here are the top events we look forward to for St. Patrick’s Day in 2026.
1. St. Practice Day: Saturday, March 7th, 2026
St. Practice Day is an opportunity to “practice” your bar crawling and brush up on your technique before the big event — not to mention it’s one of the most fun ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah!
In 2026, the event will take place on Saturday, March 7th. Tickets are currently $14.99 a person for the “Super Eagar Sale” if you claim them before January 23rd, 2026. Savannah Bar Crawl also offers an early-bird sale with ticket prices ranging from $24.99 and $34.99 per person if purchased before the day of the event. At the door, tickets cost $39.99 per person.
Each participant will meet at the starting bar and then move through the participating bars at their own pace, choosing from drink specials available only to event participants. The first 200 bar crawlers who complete their scorecard will receive a free t-shirt. In the past, some of the bars in Savannah that participated in the event have included The Crypt Pub, Bay Street Blues, and The Hideaway Lounge.
2. St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Tuesday, March 17th, 2026

Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is (without a doubt!) the most popular of the St. Patrick’s Day weekend festivities in Savannah and a must-do while spending St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah. This parade has been happening in the city since 1824, and this year (2026) marks its 202nd anniversary. It is the country’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade, following the parades in New York City and Chicago!
The parade route usually starts at the intersection of Gwinnett Street and Abercorn Street, near Forsyth Park, and proceeds along Abercorn Street, Broughton Street, Bay Street, and Bull Street before ending at the intersection of Bull Street and Harris Street. People usually camp out along the parade route for the best views of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Consider purchasing bleacher seats on Bay Street, near Colonial Park Cemetery, or near St. John’s Cathedral, for $40–55 per person, to secure a spot on the parade route.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins promptly after the Celebration of Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist at 8 AM. During the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, expect to see elaborate floats, marching bands, live music, traditional dancers, and other celebrations of Irish heritage.
3. St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawls: Saturday, March 14th & Tuesday, March 17th

If you got your bar crawl “practice” in on St. Practice Day, now it’s time for the real deal — Savannah’s St. Patrick’s Day bar crawls!
The first bar crawl, the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Bar Crawl, takes place on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, from 1 PM to 8 PM, starting at Stafford’s Public House. Each ticket includes free drinks and a free party at a participating venue after the bar crawl is over. You’ll also have access to themed food and drink specials at select venues, access to a digital pub crawl map, and photos and videos of the event from a professional photographer!
The second bar crawl, the Savannah Official St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl, takes place in the evening of St. Patrick’s Day, after the parade on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026. This crawl is very similar to the weekend crawl, with free drinks, food, and drink specials, a bar crawl map, and a professional photographer and videographer, but it also includes both a “mid” party and an “after” party for endless opportunities to make memories and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
