Top October Events & Festivals in Savannah

Savannah Greek Festival

A spread of Greek food including salad, olives, potato wedges, and chicken souvlaki.

The Savannah Greek Festival is a three-day event that usually occurs on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before Columbus Day Weekend. This fun festival, hosted by St. Paul’s Hellenic Center in Savannah, gives participants a chance to immerse themselves in Greek culture, with homemade Greek food, music, and dancing. The 74th annual event will take place from October 9th to 11th in 2025 from 11 AM to 9 PM each day.

Savannah Pride Festival

The Savannah Pride Festival, hosted by the Savannah Pride Center, is celebrating its 26th anniversary on Saturday, October 25th, 2025. This year’s theme is Illuminate, and will feature food vendors, small businesses, non-profits, and a neon glow party from DJ Nebula Beatz when the sun goes down in Forsyth Park. Grab the whole family for a day of music, art, connection, and fun, starting at noon and wrapping up at 11 PM.

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival, hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design, is one of the most highly anticipated events in Savannah in October (and really, the whole year!). This event connects aspiring filmmakers with famous actors, producers, and directors, like Hugh Jackman, Sadie Sink, Miles Teller, and Emily Blunt. You can purchase tickets and passes online to screenings, panels, and events.

Before attending the film festival, read a little more about the films and TV shows that have been filmed in Savannah over the years — you might be surprised to find some of your favorites on the list!

Until the last week of October, head down to River Street and the Plant Riverside District on the Savannah River to celebrate Oktoberfest in Savannah. This free, family-friendly event offers authentic German-style food vendors, live music, bratwurst-eating contests, keg bowling, and stein holding. You can also grab a drink at the beer garden and, of course, watch the famous Savannah Wiener Dog Races!

Details for Savannah’s Oktoberfest have yet to be released for 2025, but last year’s event took place on the first three Saturdays of October, and this year’s event will likely follow the same schedule.

‍Phil The Park

Phil The Park, once known as Picnic in the Park, is a popular music event in Savannah that usually occurs on the first Saturday in October. Last year’s event occurred on Saturday, October 5th, from 5 PM to 9 PM, so the concert for 2025 will likely take place on Saturday, October 4th, at a similar time.

This concert, hosted and headlined by the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra, brings chorus groups, bands, and musicians from across the city to Forsyth Park for an outdoor concert filled with endless talent and a diverse range of music, from rock to jazz. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs, grab a bite to eat from the surrounding food trucks, and prepare for a night of entertainment and fun!

Wag-O-Ween

Wag-O-Ween is a family-friendly and pet-friendly community event in Savannah that allows dogs (and their owners!) to dress up in Halloween costumes and go trick-or-treating at participating businesses in Downtown Savannah. This weekend event also includes raffles, photo opportunities, and more fun for you and your furry friend, and supports local animal rescues.

If you have a pet (or simply love dogs!), be sure to attend this fur-tastic event that will take place from October 25th to 26th in Savannah’s Historic District.
